I. Proffesional Services

A. Basic Services of Funeral Director and Staff

This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.)

Our fee for the basic services of funeral director and staff includes, but is not limited to:
  • 24 hour availability of staff to respond to initial request for service
  • Arrangement conference with family or responsible party
  • Preparation and filing of necessary authorizations and permits
  • Recording Vital Statistics
  • Notification to Social Security Administration
  • Coordinating arrangements with cemetery, crematory and/or other parties involved with final disposition
  • Overhead expenses relative to our facility such as professional licensing, legal and accounting fees, insurance, building, and utility expenses, parking lot and grounds, maintenance, taxes, equipment, furnishings, inventory costs, bookkeeping, secretarial and administrative expenses.
B. Professional Embalming OR Refrigeration
Tissue Harvested Case Embalming
Autopsied Case Embalming
Dressing, Cosmetics & Hairdressing

Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements such as a funeral with viewing/visitation. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.

C. Other Care of the Deceased
External sanitary procedures of unembalmed remains
Refrigeration, each day after 8 days
Autopsy Repair or Tissue Procurement Repair without Embalming

II. Additional Services and our Contracted Fees

A. Use of Equipment & Staff for Viewing (4 hrs.)
  • Set-up of viewing room
  • Placement of encased remains
  • Display of floral arrangements
  • Staff for supervision and assistance during the viewing
B. Use of Equipment & Staff for Funeral Ceremony or Memorial Service
  • Staff to supervise and assist with the ceremony
  • Set up and use of facilities for memorial service
  • Same day committal service
C. Use of Equipment and Staff for Graveside Service
  • Coordinating the service at the graveside
  • Staff for supervision and assistance of graveside service
  • Equipment and set-up for service at graveside

III. AUtomotive Equipment

A. Transfer of Remains to the Funeral Home

(within 30 mile radius of Long Beach city limits (addt'l fee after hours (9 p.m.-7 a.m)

B. Funeral Coach and Driver
C. Limousine and Driver (fee per hr.–4 hr. minimum)
D. Mercedes Sprinter & Driver (fee per hr.–4 hr. minimum)
E. Utility Vehicle
F. Mileage Outside Radius of 30 Miles, one way, per mile
G. Riverside National Cemetery Vehicle Expense / Per vehicle

When services are purchased as a package or plan, House of Winston Funeral Services, Inc. can offer savings to the family. If deletions are made from any plan, the deductions will be made from the itemized total, not the plan total. These discounted packages are available only when a casket is selected at our funeral home. Casket prices are not included.
