Augusta Butler's Obituary
Augusta Jackson- Butler was born August 26, 1926 in Idabel Oklahoma to Frank Jackson and Irma Cotton. She was the seventh of eight children born to this union. She attended Macedonia School for her education. She professed Christ and was baptized at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Idabel Oklahoma at an early age. She met and married George Walter Butler in 1943 and to this union nine children were born
After raising her children and assisting in raising her grandchildren she entered into self employment as a nanny for the Seller and Chin Family. When she was not caring for and assisting infirmed family members she enjoyed fishing with her brother Roy. Early in life she quilted, canned and embroidered to fulfill family needs as well as spiritual needs . She enjoyed westerns and all old television programs. She departed this life October 30, 2015 in Los Angeles, CA. She was preceded in death by husband George Walter Butler, son’s Alvin John & Lawrence Otis Butler, siblings: Frank Jr, John, Isaac, Warren Hardy, Roy, and Annie Jackson-Gilbert and granddaughter Ketta Massey Augusta leaves to cherish her memory, sister Verlee Doran of Sacramento, CA her children, Lucile B. Butler of Los Angeles, CA; Irma Jean Butler of San Leandro, CA; Sharon H. Butler of Moreno Valley, CA and Shirley H. Butler of San Lorenzo, CA; sons:, Walter Earl Butler & wife Gigi of Gardnerville, NV, Anthony Ray Butler of Vallejo, CA; Charles A. Butler & wife Kelly of Modesto, CA. Loving grandchildren, Sterling Butts, Marie Thompson-Butler, Taji Dowdy, Ivan Butler, Kinesha Butler, Brandy Butler, Brett Butler, Anthony Butler Jr., Brandon Butler, and Courtney Butler: Great-grand children Brittney Lamar- Steward, Breana Lamar, Wesley Proctor, Brooke Love, Sterling Love, Davion Jiles, Alexa Butts, Dalyce Brown, Mikayla Butts, Makai Butler; and she was blessed with great-great grandchild Belle Steward. Additionally, Augusta is survived by a host of family members. Recognition: Augusta had very special people in her life and the Butler family wishes to acknowledge them at this time. She thought of and loved the following as family: Cleo Stocker, Tanya Butler, The Chen family, The Goodwin family, The Lewis Family, Gladys Winfrey, Diane Barmore, Damien Bargeman, Keisha and Ariana Bragg.
