Carol Ann Montague's Obituary
Carol Ann Montague was born July 3, 1945, in San Pedro, California to the late McElree and Marve Graham. In 1953, the family relocated to Los Angeles, California where she was educated in the Compton Unified School District and graduated from California State University, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.
At the age of 10, Carol boldly went forward to accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Los Angeles. Throughout the years she was a member of Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church in Los Angeles and later joined Foothill Community Seventh Day Baptist Church in Montrose. She served in many capacities notably as Treasurer, Administrator to the Pastor, and as a choir member singing soprano.
In 1965, Carol met and married Wilfred Montague. From that union she had a daughter, Dannette Elizabeth, and a son, Wilfred Alan, whom she lovingly called Dan and Al. 1hey moved to Gardena in 1968 where she lived until her death.
Carol excelled in three different careers. She served 20 years with the County of Los Angeles and retired as a Welfare Fraud Investigator. As an educator, Carol taught all levels from Elementary School to Community and Business College. At age 13 Carol learned from her Dad how to prepare taxes. Following in her Dad's
footsteps, Carol started her own business, C. A. Montague Income Tax Services. When she retired in 2013, she had served over 1100 clients. In her well-deserved vacation travels she embarked on destinations within and outside of the United States.
Carol was a loving and supportive mother, daughter, sister, and friend who had a genuine heart f or serving
And helping others. She was highly motivated and self-taught in various areas including jewelry making, needle work, gardening, and ceramics. Carol's outgoing, receptive, compassionate, and loving demeanor made her a stranger to no one. Her illuminating and attractive personality regularly engaged her in friendly conversation with her tax clients and any and every one with whom she came in contact within the community.
Carol peacefully departed this life Wednesday, March 2, 2016 after several health challenges upon her retirement in 2013. Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother Frank Earl Graham. Carol is survived by her daughter Dannette Elizabeth Montague and son Wilfred Alan Montague (Kim), sister Patricia Graham Green, brothers Michael Graham and Tyrone Graham (Deborah), and a host of  relatives and   friends.
