Darryl Thompson's Obituary
Darryl W. Thompson was born in Los Angeles, California on September 19, 1962 to William H. Thompson and Joyce Grinage Thompson. He began his early education at Cathedral Chapel School in Los Angeles and Maria Regina School in Gardena. He continued on to graduate from Serra high School in Gardena and California state College Stanislaus and Bishop College in Dallas, Texas. While attending school in Texas he met and married Izella Volante. From a young age, early in life, Darryl was reared in a Christian home. He was baptized at the age of five at Cathedral Chapel in Los Angeles and received his first communion and confirmation at Maria Regina Church. In his adult life he became an active member of Harvest Christian Center in 1996. Darryl was a product of his family lineage, his grandfather, Rev. T.W. Grinage was a minister and grandmother Edna Grinage was a great missionary worker. He walked by faith, and all those who knew him, knew that he truly loved and believed in God. Darryl was preceded in death by his fathers, William Thompson and Charles Watson. He leaves to cherish his memory: mother Joyce Watson; daughter Sheila; sons Zachary, Quincy, Wayne and Wesley; granddaughter Aalihay; sister Wendy; brother Michael; sister-in-law Brea; aunt Doris; uncles Jerry & Harold; cousin David; and a host of other relatives and friends.
