Beautiful service. Big cousin Don was always full of sunshine whenever you saw or spoke to him. He was always smiling and laughing and I'll miss that greatly. I love you cousin. Rest easy <3 <3 <3
My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Donald Matthews, Sr. I will continue to keep the family in my prayers. Remember "to be absent from the body is to be present with the lord". You will truly be missed!!! Rest In Heaven, Donald🙏🙏🙏
My Brotha and High School Best Friend. My prayers and affirming thoughts to family and his host of friends.
Our remember many days walking to school on the other side of the factory, laughing and joking about so many things with Don. We would wait for each other to walk to school and home from school. Oh my, our days of playing football in the projects “priceless”. Donald thought he could QB, naw dude “block”.
I remember one day we were riding our bikes thru Nickerson Gardens. Now you being from the Jordon Downs we were not suppose to be there but Donald met this girl so we were going to visit. We laughing and joking and I’m talking but all of a sudden it’s silent. I turn around dim negros about five-six done snatched Don off the bike. I stop, turn around and go back, our luck I knew one of the brothers from school. He was like “y’all ain’t suppose to be over here.” Well, he was right and we didn’t visit that girl either.
He would always encourage me and our conversations were always out of a respect for each other. We never had a disagreement. He will always be my shining example of a friend and a brotha from another mother.
Don, “Put on your robe and tell the story how you made it over! Now that you’ve made it home.”
Thank you Don for your Friendship/Love towards Me/my Family!
Rest In Peace Loved One
Love Denise
