Dorothy Monroe's Obituary
Dorothy Jean Ross was born on September 16, 1962, at the hospital LA General Hospital to the proud parents of Emily Jean Walker and Harry Theodore Monroe. As a little girl Dorothy was very outgoing, funny, and had a smile that would light up the room. She enjoyed singing, dancing, and doing drill team moves. She found joy in helping others in need and if you needed a shoulder to cry on you can count on her. She also spent a lot of time with family and friends. Dorothy loves to cook and if you know her you know her favorite day to cook was Sundays. Dorothy kept the Sunday tradition going that was known to
her as a kid. In 1979 June 18, Dorothy gave birth to her only child Detraille Reenae Gibson which was her new journey to motherhood. She was a wonderful mother to her daughter and were the best of friends. In 1995 Dorothy only Grandchild was born name Kejuante Phillip Washington. Dorothy loved her keke couldn't nobody tell her nothing about him. She protected her grandson and took care of him to her best ability.
In 2005, Dorothy met the love of her life Willie Ross, and she loved Willie just as much as he did her. In 2011 Dorothy would have her first Great Grandchild Amari Washington out of four Great grand kids. Dorothy had a dog named Brownie who she loved like she was her own child. In 2012 her Great grandson Da’Mariaye Washington was born, in 2020 Kejuante Washington Jr, and in 2022 Ka'Ziyon Washington was born. She loved them dearly and on March 28, 2023, the Lord picked a beautiful flower to add to his garden. Dorothy Monroe Ross is preceded in death with her mother, Father, Grandmother, her Uncles James Walker, Gregory Monroe and brother and sister in-law: Emily Jean walker, Harry Theodore Monroe, Dorothy May Walker, Bobby Busby and Pam Busby.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Detraille Gibson, Grandson Kejuante Washington, Husband Willie Ross, Auntie Debra Walker, Daughter In-Law Brittany Washington, Great Grandchildren Amari Washington, Da'Mariaye Washington, Kejuante Washington Jr, Ka'Ziyon Washington, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
