My father, Charles Robinson Sr. only referred to one man as his brother and that was Elder Ashley whom he fondly called “Blood”. I remember as a child growing up in Los Angeles, my father would drop my mother and my siblings off at El and Ossie’s home and there we would be until Dad and El had either ran out of money or ran out of fun! This happened on numerous occasions.
Prior to El’s passing, my father had tried to contact him only to find that his phone was full and did not get the opportunity to have that final conversation, but dad expressed how grateful he was for the good times and the memories that he had shared with his brother.
