Franklin Weaver's Obituary
Franklin Delano Weaver passed away on April 7, 2024, in Los Angeles California surrounded by his family. He was 86 years old.
Franklin was born in Casa Grande, Arizona on May 25, 1937. He graduated from Casa Grande Union High School where he excelled in sports and met his future wife, Eula Faye Johnson. They wed in 1956 and had six children from that union. Although Eula and Franklin ultimately parted ways, they remained friends over the years.
Franklin eventually relocated from Arizona to Los Angeles, California. He worked with his brother-in-law Joseph Collier (“Pops”) at Braun’s Towels and Linen driving trucks and delivering linen to various places. Los Angeles truly became his home. He lived in South Los Angeles for most of his life and his house became a hub where family and friends gathered to connect and have a good time.
Franklin enjoyed fishing, sports, playing cards and dominoes, horses, gambling, barbequing, the Blues, and spending time with friends and family. He was outgoing, down-to earth, and had a way of always making others feel welcomed. His spirit of generosity was ever present to family and strangers alike. Whether giving to family, someone in the neighborhood, or one of the stray cats that frequented his yard, his kindness left a lasting impact on all he encountered.
He was preceded in death by John Weaver (father), Minnie Weaver (mother), Eula Faye Weaver (ex-wife), Gregory Weaver (son), Jeanette Collier (sister), Willard Weaver (brother), Otis Weaver (brother), Elmer Weaver (brother), Leroy Weaver (brother), Thomas Weaver (brother), and Cleon Weaver (brother), Johnessa Weaver (granddaughter), and Terrance William Johnson (grandson).
