Gary Loren Alexander was born on September 17, 1978, in Los Angeles, California, to Kennieth Loren Alexander and Veronica Evett Woods Crite. In
1988, at the age of ten, Gary relocated to Seattle, Washington, with his mother, stepfather Daryl D. Woods, Sr., and family. While living in Seattle, Gary accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at The Garden of Gethsemane COGIC. As
a young boy, Gary was full of energy, sociable, and funny. He loved to explore the world around him, often taking things apart, building, and putting them back together. Gary enjoyed spending time with his siblings and engaging in outdoor activities. He was an active member of the children's choir and found
joy in playing with LEGOS, He-Man action figures, Lincoln Logs, and watching
cartoons.
At age fourteen, Gary returned to Los Angeles, California, to live with his grandmother, Mary B. Cannon, and grandfather, Phillip Cannon. During this time, he attended Gospel Truth Church under the leadership of Pastor Travis C. Jackson and Delores Jackson. Gary graduated from Washington Preparatory High School and went on to complete the Custodial Buildings & Ground Worker Program at Maxine Waters Employment Preparation Center where he learned entry-level training in facilities maintenance, covering the use of tools, safety protocols, scheduling, and cleaning. Gary learned carpentry from his father and performed a variety of handyman tasks, such as minor plumbing repairs, and painti ng. Gary also worked in security, briefly at Superior Grocery Store and he promoted club events. He was known for his dimples and infectious smile, always dressing well and lighting up any room he entered. He was the life of the party, and his dance moves reflected his vibrant personality. He even auditioned for The Voice." Not only could Gary dance, but he also had a lovely singing voice and enjoyed performing. His sense of humor was evident in his witty remarks and funny one-liners, such as "Not Today Toots," ''Awesome Sauce," "Everybody Love Me You Ain't Messin' With My Dougie," and "Lawd Have Mercy " .
Throughout his life, Gary faced many hardships, but his unwavering faith in God anchored him. Even in his toughest moments, he maintained a sweet disposition and a smile on his face. On August 23, 2025, Gary was called to eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his father, Kennieth Loren Alexander; brother, Daryl Deon Woods, Jr. "DJ"; grandmothers, Bessie Mae (Rainwater) Alexander, Willie Eva Wright, and Winifred Woods; grandfathers, McHenry Alexander, Richard Crite, Phillip Cannon and Roy Woods.

Cannon; sisters, Tracey Renee Alexander, Nicole Evett Woods, Adrian Foster, Shantell Martin, and LaTrice Alexander; brothers, Danyell Flowers, Clifton Weathers, Kennieth Alexander, Jr., Michael Hill-Alexander and Daryl J. Woods "Little D"; and a host of nieces nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. We love you Gary and will miss you dearly knowing that you are resting in eternal peace.
