James Ross' Obituary
James Alex Ross, born on July 25, 1947 in port Gibson, Mississippi to Mary and Clarence Ross there he attended Port Gibson Elementary and learned all about about southern hospitality. James was the fifth child and second boy of nine siblings.
In 1956 James moved to Los Angeles, California with his family. He attended Carver Junior High and John Muir High School, graduating class of 1967.
James attended various churches, and received Christ in 1966 under the leadership of Elder Earl Monday of Deliverance Church of God in Christ and was later baptized by Elder Preston Williams, leader of Powerhouse Church of God in Christ before joining West Angeles Church of God in Christ as was an active member until death.
While in Los Angeles, California James was called to ministry in 1975 traveling and preaching the word of God. James was truly anointed by God. His favorite scripture was Isaiah 57:1-2.
In 1979 he met Zora Anne Ross they were later married in 1992. James, Sonny Boy, loved him some Zora and his good looks and praying nature kept their union in bliss. From their union they conceive Christopher Ross born 1983.
James held various occupations from security to car sales. he had a love and passion for Cadillacs. James was a family man with a smile on his face and a cup of coffee, and his gold. James could easily turn a frown upside down. He remained married to his wife Zora until the Lord called him home.
On April 11, 2013 James was called to glory, where he could leave the troubles of this world behind; no more sickness, no more pain, but eternal life was his to gain.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ross, and father, Clarence Ross, his brothers Clarence Ross, Jr. and Robert Ross, Sr.
James leaves behind to cherish his wonderful memories: his wife, Zora Anne Ross; daughter, Grace Ross and son Christopher Ross; five sisters, Katherine Ross, Dorothy Ross, Lucinda Ross Powells, Inettas Ross-Richardson and Audrey Ross-Jordan; one brother, Fred Ross; four step children and four children from a previous marriage; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many loved ones, family and friends.
