Lisa Renae Jones' Obituary
OBITUARY
Lisa Renae Jones, affectionately known by some as “Mama Hood”, was born on January 22, 1965, in Los Angeles, California to Earnestine and Walter Jones. Lisa attended 54th Street Elementary, Audubon Middle School, and after briefly attending Whitney Young, graduated from Crenshaw High School in 1984. She also attended Los Angeles Trade Technical College, focusing on general education classes.
Lisa had several hobbies. She enjoyed dancing and listening to “oldies” music and mastered the games of spades and dominoes. Lisa cherished the company of friends, family and cooking her favorite famous dishes, spaghetti and chicken.
After many years of drug abuse Lisa overcame that obstacle. She successfully remained drug-free for 16 years and was very proud of her progress, celebrating her sobriety birthday, May 8th of each year, in faithful remembrance of that accomplishment.
Lisa loved each of children equally despite struggles occurring during her life. She provided for her children to the best of her ability. They meant the world to her, and she was very proud of each and every one of them in their own special way. Lisa was a loving, giving person. Although she did not have much, it did not prevent her from helping anyone in need. Unconditional love best describes what flowed from Lisa Jones into the lives of others. Those who knew her best loved her the same way.
Baptized at an early age, Lisa accepted Christ while attending Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles. Preceding her in death are her parents, sister Diane Jones, two sons, Marcus Kyle Jones, Anthony Jones, and grandson, Rayshawn Coleman.
