There is an old saying “good friend. Better than pocket money”
Pam was a very good friend. I met her in 1977 when I moved to LA .She was kind and caring and was always ready to give a helping hand
She often spoke of her 2 grandsons she was so proud of them and of her beloved daughter Veronica who was always at her side. Rest in heavenly peace my friend🙏

Maya Angelou said " Try to be a RAINBOW in someone else's cloud...be a BLESSING to somebody..." A rainbow is defined as ' arc of colour in the day that can be seen when the sun shines through falling rain. The pattern of colours, called a spectrum, starts with red on the outside and changes through orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violent on the inside.' My Aunt Pam was a kaleidoscope of colour; she bursted with joy and permeated love...a true RAINBOW , who indeed was a blessing to all who knew her.
The pictures attached (hope you are seeing them) from L-R, the three sisters - Dottie, Faye, Pam and their Mother (Grandma) in the middle; Next- Aunt Pam in her 20's; & far right, my last picture with my beloved Aunt Pam when I visited with her in September 2019- we were trying to see who could lift their leg higher...That trip to LA was a dedicated one to see her perhaps for the last time- as we say in Jamaican parlance 'Just to look in her face', and to hear her signature laughter envelop the room...and did we laugh...In recollection, it was such a special moment that can never be replaced-Veronica took me to visit Aunt Pam, straight from the airport, and when she saw me entering the room she exclaimed " Denise, what are you doing here" followed by her signature chuckle; that moment, and the visit in its entirety will now be a part of those plethora of memories I have of my Aunt Pam; P.S not least in the memory bank her iconic scents- Jean Nate bath splash and Yves St. Laurent, Rive Gauche perfume - to this day I use, always thinking of Aunt Pam as I splash or spray, some here and there...
As scripture says- 2 Timothy 4:7 :
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Aunt Pam, you surely fought the good fight finished the race, and kept the faith, now it's time for you to nestle with the loved ones who have gone on before...for us left behind, we will miss you...but when we see a RAINBOW or hear your laughter billowing out in the memories we hold dear, we will keep you near until we all meet again...In the second verse of the song 'Over the Rainbow' it says:
" Someday I' ll wish upon a star, and wake up where the clouds are far behind me, where troubles melt like lemon drops away above the chimney tops, that's where you will find me..."
Rest in peace dearest Marilyn Yvonne(Pam)- much love from your big sister, Dottie, and your niece, Denise Angella...and indeed all the relatives residing in Jamaica. Amen.
Marilyn had spunk ,her jokes were naughty ,and heart was big. She was so kind to my family we loving refer to her as our “ Jamaican Auntie”, who introduced me to curry and Easter bun . She was always the loving nurse with great advice and kind words . She anticipated the needs of others and loved her daughter and “her boys” . We are going to miss her , good friends are hard to find . Marilyn was one of a kind . She often spoke of her beautiful parents and siblings and told me many beautiful stories . We’ll miss you Auntie with love and condolences . The Hayward-Benson family
